Agentic artificial intelligence is predicted to see massive growth, with over one billion agentic AI agents in use globally by 2029. This is a 40-fold increase compared to 2025. What's interesting is that despite widespread curiosity, enterprise adoption remains slow. A report found that 62% of organizations are experimenting with AI agents, but only 23% have scaled these systems. However, early movers are seeing success. Chris So of AWS Hong Kong attributed the company's 15 billion US dollars in annual recurring revenue in the first quarter of 2026 to the growing adoption of AI agents. AWS also announced a deepened partnership with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. This collaboration will support over 300 AI-driven startups, focusing on healthcare and life sciences. It will also create career pathways for Hong Kong students through certifications and training.
