Agentic AI: The New Intelligence for Enterprise Workflows

Context is now seen as the new intelligence in agentic AI. This new type of AI understands context, connects information, and can manage enterprise workflows. Elango Somasundaram, CTO of UBS India, discussed this at DevSparks Hyderabad 2026. He says AI development is moving beyond simple copilots to systems that can reason across different tasks with less human help. This shift is changing engineering, not replacing engineers. Agentic AI starts with an intent, identifies necessary tasks, and then delegates them to specialized agents to deliver a complete outcome. It goes beyond current copilots or vibe coding. The next competitive advantage will come from richer context and stronger safeguards, not just better models. For businesses, especially in regulated fields like banking, context includes proprietary processes and security policies. Generic models can't understand these specific details, making data quality foundational. This means AI will begin to participate in architectural thinking, which was once only for experienced engineers.
