Agentic AI Trust Issues: APAC Orgs Hesitate to Scale

Organisations in Asia-Pacific are using agentic AI, but they are holding back on scaling it up due to trust issues. This is because many cannot fully account for their AI agents' decisions. Here's the thing: only 50% of organisations in the region can reconstruct an AI decision pathway, and just 38% can run a tamper-proof audit trail. This is despite 95% of respondents saying they can explain an AI decision. The report, which surveyed 720 business decision-makers, found the region's overall traceability score is 61%. India leads in autonomy with 71.8%, while Thailand and the Philippines lead in responsibility at 74.8%. Thailand also has the highest traceability score at 64.8%. Financial services lead in responsibility and traceability among sectors. However, even in this sector, only 41% maintain tamper-proof records of AI decisions. The bottom line is that organisations are falling behind in traceability. If AI decisions are not traceable, they create risks for organisations. This means businesses might face significant challenges as AI becomes more autonomous.
