AI Agents & ERP: New Security Risks Emerge

Companies are facing new security challenges as they integrate more artificial intelligence agents into their financial and supply chain systems. This creates a new type of AI risk. Here's the thing: incidents are now emerging where properly permissioned AI agents could take harmful actions within critical business systems. Roland Palmer of JumpCloud explains that this new category doesn't involve an attacker. Instead, it's an agent with legitimate access doing what it was instructed. Data from Onapsis shows that 58% of respondents started using AI applications with their ERP systems within the last six months. However, trust in these systems is low. Over 70% of respondents have limited or no trust in AI protecting their critical data. The bottom line is that the rapid adoption of AI in business systems is outpacing current security capabilities, creating complex new vulnerabilities for organizations.
