AI Security Concerns Halt Projects: 76% of Firms Affected

Three-quarters of firms have halted AI projects due to safety and security concerns. This comes as cyber professionals believe things will worsen as advanced AI models improve. Here's the thing: AI has become a major problem for enterprise security teams. A survey from Aikido Security found that 76% of organizations had to stop or restrict AI projects in the last year. This number jumps to 98% for more active teams. Seven out of ten companies experienced a security issue that was harder to detect or fix because of AI. This figure rose to 86% for daily shippers. The challenge lies in the speed of AI development, leaving security teams less time to find flaws. What's interesting is that nine out of ten security professionals see models like Claude Mythos as increasing cyber risk. A CybaVerse survey shows 86% of cyber pros believe these AI systems will help hackers find and exploit flaws faster. More than two-thirds said their employer lacks the budget to handle the increased workload. The bottom line is that organizations are struggling to keep up with the security implications of rapidly advancing AI.
