AI Security Readiness: Top Obstacle to Adoption, Linux Foundation

AI security readiness is now the number one obstacle to its adoption, according to a new Linux Foundation report. This warning highlights a growing gap between plans to deploy AI and the ability to secure these systems. Sixty-seven percent of respondents report pressure to accelerate AI deployment, even with security concerns. In fact, security and privacy concerns have nearly tripled in two years, rising from 17% in 2024 to 48% in 2026. This makes them the top barrier to AI adoption. Despite this, 97% of organizations are committed to implementing AI. To address the security gap, 57% of organizations are prioritizing upskilling existing staff. An additional 49% are hiring new technical staff. The bottom line: securing AI is critical for its successful integration into businesses.
