AI Trust Gap: Cybersecurity Leaders Doubt AI Security

A new report reveals that most senior cybersecurity leaders have limited trust in artificial intelligence. What's interesting is that 70% of these leaders have only some or no trust in AI to secure their critical data. Here's the thing: 22% of organizations experienced a security incident in the last year where bad actors used AI to exploit their platforms. Despite this, over half of organizations, 58%, started using AI-based apps or agents with their ERP systems in just the last six months. And 86% are integrating AI directly into their ERP code. But there's resistance. Nearly 57% of business units object to implementing AI in ERP, with security teams leading the opposition. The top reasons are lack of confidence in AI security and compliance risk. The bottom line: 68.6% are not very confident their current defenses can detect an AI-based attack. This highlights a significant gap between AI adoption and trust in its security.
