AITSC Launches: Defining Enterprise AI Security Standards

The AI Trust and Security Consortium, or AITSC, is now accepting applications for its founding group of 50 enterprise security and technology leaders. This consortium aims to define how AI is deployed, governed, and trusted within large organizations. Here's the thing: this is an independent, practitioner-led initiative. It brings together cross-industry security and IT leaders to build much-needed AI guardrails that current frameworks don't supply. The rules for enterprise AI are being written right now, and this group wants to ensure they are written by the people who defend these systems. Many enterprise leaders face a contradiction: boards want AI everywhere, but legal frameworks are missing, and regulators are drafting rules. McKinsey's 2026 AI Trust Maturity Survey found only about one-third of organizations have mature AI governance. What's interesting is that security concerns are now the top barrier to AI adoption for 48% of organizations, a significant jump from 17% in 2024. The bottom line: this consortium empowers members to shape category-defining standards, share confidential intelligence, and accelerate discovery, giving them a voice in AI security governance rather than just reacting to it.
