Alchemy & Visa Partner for AI Agent Payments

Alchemy is teaming with Visa to give AI agents a complete identity and payment stack. This new integration allows AI agents to make online purchases for consumers. For example, an AI agent built on models from providers like OpenAI or Anthropic can book a vacation or order groceries without the consumer touching a checkout screen. Developers can set this up quickly, giving agents a Visa payment token, a dedicated email, a phone number, and a cryptocurrency wallet through a single API. This launch follows Alchemy's introduction of AgentPay, a tool for AI payment systems. The new integration means agents can use Visa-issued tokens for transactions, keeping rewards and card benefits. However, a security challenge exists with AI agents. The internet currently cannot verify if an agent is authorized or the limits of its permissions. This collaboration aims to help AI agents access the global economy securely.
