Alexa+ UK: Browser Access for Prime Members Now Live

UK Prime members can now use Alexa+ directly from any web browser, without needing an Echo speaker. This change happened when Amazon opened Alexa.com to British Early Access subscribers on July 20. Now, users can manage smart home devices, update calendars, ask questions, upload documents, and have multi-turn AI conversations through their web browser. This positions Alexa+ to compete with other browser-first AI services. Alexa+ first launched in March, but was limited to Echo hardware and the mobile app. The browser launch completes a shift, making Alexa+ a cross-surface software platform. This means conversations and preferences carry across all Alexa+ surfaces, whether on the web, an Echo device, or the mobile app. This makes the assistant more ambient, present wherever a user is working.
