Alibaba Qwen AI Beats ChatGPT & Gemini in Coding

Alibaba has launched a new artificial intelligence model called Qwen3.7-Max. The company claims this system outperformed competing AI models from OpenAI and Google in coding benchmarks. Here's the thing: Qwen3.7-Max is designed as an autonomous coding agent. It can handle complex software tasks with limited human input. Alibaba says it can operate independently for up to 35 hours and perform over 1,000 software tool interactions in one session. The model can build front-end software prototypes, manage large coding projects, and automate office workflows. Alibaba states Qwen3.7-Max ranks fourth globally on the Code Arena benchmark leaderboard, ahead of some versions of ChatGPT and Gemini. Only models from Anthropic reportedly scored higher. This launch highlights China’s growing push to compete in advanced AI development, particularly in AI coding systems.
