AMD CFO: Agentic AI Fuels "Tremendous" CPU Demand

AMD's Chief Financial Officer, Jean Hu, states that agentic AI is driving "tremendous" CPU demand. This new form of AI focuses on orchestration and database access, requiring significant CPU performance. AMD expects its second-quarter CPU revenue to grow over 70% year-over-year. The company now forecasts the total addressable market for CPUs to exceed $120 billion by 2030, a significant increase from their earlier $60 billion estimate. Agentic AI racks, which manage operations between inference tasks and data retrieval, are seen as the fastest-growing segment and will likely form the majority of this expanded market. AMD also reports that its MI450 is now sampling, and the Helios rack-scale system will launch in the second half of 2026. This indicates a growing and evolving market for AI-related hardware.
