AnonyMousKIT: AI Scammers Target Stolen Apple Devices

A new phishing platform is targeting owners of stolen Apple devices using AI voice agents. These agents call victims, posing as Apple Support, to ask for device passcodes and two-factor authentication codes. Cybersecurity researchers track this platform as AnonyMousKIT. It uses rented AI voice agents to make these calls. The platform is designed to strip Apple's Activation Lock from stolen devices. The system asks for a 4- or 6-digit device passcode, then Apple ID credentials, and finally a live two-factor authentication code. Apple's own guidance states they never ask for this information to provide support. One interesting finding is that 179 of 200 calls analyzed went to numbers in Brazil. The cost for these 200 calls was about 19 dollars. This highlights an evolving threat that targets personal information through sophisticated social engineering.
