Anthropic AI Models Pulled: US Restricts Foreign Access

Anthropic has suspended access to its new AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos, for all users. This follows a directive from the Department of Commerce. The American AI company had just released Fable 5, describing it as safe for general use. However, the Department of Commerce instructed Anthropic to "suspend all access" to both models by any foreign national, including employees, whether inside or outside the United States. Anthropic stated it could not reliably sort users by nationality. As a result, it pulled both models for everyone. This impacts how and where these new AI tools can be used.
