Anthropic CEO: "No Trust" Led to OpenAI Departure

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei directly cited trust issues with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman as a reason he left OpenAI. He told a Bloomberg interview, "Why fight someone you do not share a vision with and do not trust?" Amodei added that he is satisfied with the current dynamic between the two companies. He believes the market and public opinion will ultimately judge their approaches. The remarks come as attention returns to the 2020 departure of Amodei, his sister Daniela, and nine OpenAI employees to found Anthropic.
