Officials said Amodei was hard to talk to and didn't listen to their concerns. Now, talks are reportedly going well with Brown and Sarah Heck, the company's public policy chief. The export controls were enacted after Amazon CEO Andy Jassy warned that researchers found ways to bypass the AI models' safety guardrails. Anthropic responded by taking the models offline on June 12. The National Security Agency previously found that Mythos identified vulnerabilities in secure government systems within hours during tests.
