Anthropic Claude: Design & Code Agents Integrate for Devs

Anthropic's design assistant now works better with its coding agent. This major update allows Claude Design to work from a local codebase, meaning generated assets will contain existing elements from products. What's interesting is that Claude Design can now hand off a design to Claude Code, allowing the coding agent to program an interface without starting from scratch. You can also skip Claude Design entirely and create or edit designs directly from Claude Code by typing "/design" into your terminal. The update also brings quality-of-life improvements, including a more flexible import tool that can build entire design systems from GitHub and raw files. Plus, the app's built-in image editor has been refined for more "fine-grained" control over element positioning and sizing. For organizations, there's a new admin role to approve and lock down edits. And for regular users, a new shortcut gets you to Claude Design from the desktop app's sidebar or by typing "claude.ai/design" in a browser. The bottom line is that Claude Design now shares usage limits with other Anthropic products, and the company states "most people" will hit their limits less often. This improved integration aims to streamline the design and coding workflow.
