Anthropic Claude Security: Mythos 5 Frontier Vulnerability Scanning

Anthropic has introduced Claude Mythos 5 into its Claude Security product, allowing enterprise teams to conduct frontier vulnerability scanning. This means security teams can now enable Mythos 5 scans themselves. As of August 21, 2026, Claude Security scans for enterprise customers will run on Claude Mythos 5. This model was previously only available to vetted defenders through Project Glasswing. The scan connects to a GitHub repository, traces data flows, and provides findings with a CWE category, confidence, severity, and a suggested patch. Claude Security delivers a scan result directly, preventing the model from being steered into creating exploits. This feature is currently in public beta for Claude Enterprise customers and is billed as standard token usage. Enterprise-tier organizations with a Claude Enterprise agreement and code in GitHub can access this. Industries like hospitals, utilities, financial systems, and those in the software supply chain are targeted. This update includes three key announcements: Mythos 5 scans for Enterprise customers, the launch of the Defender Advantage Fund offering $35 million in Claude credits for open-source security, and an expansion of the Cyber Verification Program. The scan works by having Mythos 5 trace data flows and read Git history, then an adversarial verification step aims to reduce false positives. This matters because it provides advanced security scanning capabilities directly to enterprise users, helping them identify and fix high-severity vulnerabilities.
