Anthropic is proposing a plan to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to end the US ban on its powerful 'Mythos' and 'Fable' AI models. Anthropic executives Tom Brown and Sarah Heck are leading negotiations with Trump administration officials. This comes after the Trump administration placed export controls on the AI models. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy had warned the administration that researchers found ways to bypass the models' safety guardrails. Anthropic then pulled the models, stating it was the only way to comply. President Trump said talks are "going fine." A senior administration official noted that the White House received warnings from nearly half a dozen companies before taking action.
