Anthropic Valued at $900B, Surpasses OpenAI

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has agreed to a funding round that could value it at $900 billion. This $30 billion funding round would place Anthropic above its rival OpenAI, which has a valuation of $852 billion. This new funding round was co-led by investors Sequoia Capital, Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, and Greenoaks. Each of these co-leaders was expected to contribute $2 billion or more. Anthropic is also in talks with other investors for the remaining funds. What's interesting is that this agreement comes just three months after Anthropic raised $30 billion and reached a $350 billion valuation. Additionally, Google previously committed to investing $10 billion in Anthropic, with the possibility of another $30 billion. This news shows a significant shift in the competitive landscape of the AI industry.
