Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 & Mythos 5: AI Access Split

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has launched two new AI models: Claude Fable 5 for the public and Claude Mythos 5 for selected partners. Fable 5 includes additional safeguards, while Mythos 5, based on the same core technology, is initially for organizations in its Project Glasswing program. When Fable 5 receives requests in areas like cybersecurity or chemistry, it redirects them to an older model, Claude Opus 4.8. This approach aims to offer advanced AI capabilities while limiting misuse risks. Mythos 5 has fewer restrictions and is for a limited group of trusted organizations, primarily for cybersecurity applications. Anthropic plans to gradually expand access through a trust-based program. This split release reflects a growing trend among AI companies, who are offering different access levels for businesses and consumers due to safety concerns.
