Anthropic's Mythos AI: Faster Cyber Vulnerability Fixes

Anthropic announced that a new, powerful generative AI model, called Mythos, will soon be available to the public. Currently, only select organizations and cybersecurity professionals have access to it through Project Glasswing. What's interesting is that Mythos is considered so advanced in cybersecurity capabilities that Anthropic is developing stronger safeguards before its general release. The company expects to bring these models to all customers in the coming weeks. Security researchers have found that Mythos can identify exploits much faster than human hackers. For example, Mozilla's latest Firefox update included over 200 fixes identified by Mythos Preview. The bottom line is that while Mythos will be expensive to run, it could significantly change how vulnerabilities are found and addressed. This matters because it could lead to faster identification of security flaws across the internet.
