Apple Sues OpenAI: Jony Ive Absence Noted in Lawsuit

Apple is suing OpenAI, accusing the startup and several former employees of stealing confidential hardware information. Ive now oversees the design of OpenAI's hardware through his firm LoveFrom. He left Apple in 2019 and consulted until 2022. According to Mark Gurman, Apple likely found no evidence linking Ive to the alleged misconduct. Gurman also suggests Apple may want to avoid a public battle with a recognizable former executive, which could distract from the trade secret allegations.
