Apple Sues OpenAI: Trade Secret Theft Allegations

Apple is suing OpenAI, accusing the artificial intelligence company of stealing trade secrets. The lawsuit, filed on July 10th, claims OpenAI asked Apple job candidates to share details about secret projects and even bring device prototypes to interviews. Apple also alleges an OpenAI employee downloaded internal documents from an Apple laptop. This employee and OpenAI's top hardware executive, both former Apple employees, are named in the suit. The lawsuit states OpenAI then used this confidential information to approach Apple's manufacturing partners. Apple sent a letter to OpenAI in February expressing concern about improper access to confidential information, but received no response. OpenAI, however, denies the accusations, stating they have no interest in other companies' trade secrets. This legal battle escalates tensions between the two tech companies, despite a previous partnership where Apple aimed to use OpenAI's technology for products like Siri. OpenAI is also developing its own hardware products. This legal action highlights the intense competition and intellectual property concerns in the rapidly evolving AI industry.
