AT&T & D-Wave Quantum: Faster Network Optimization

AT&T is expanding its use of D-Wave Quantum's technology to accelerate network optimization. In early tests, AT&T reduced the time for a key network processing task from about one hour to less than 15 seconds. This success led to a new agreement to apply quantum computing to more network operations. What's interesting is this includes outage detection, technician routing, and traffic management. AT&T plans to use D-Wave's annealing quantum computing to improve accuracy and speed up planning for its fiber and 5G networks, especially with increasing demand from artificial intelligence.
