AWS Security Hub: AI & Multicloud Security Control Plane

AWS is turning its Security Hub into an AI and multicloud security control plane. This expands Security Hub to include Microsoft Azure and adds new protections for artificial intelligence. These updates address the rapid growth of AI as an attack surface and the multicloud nature of many AI initiatives. Security Hub, originally for AWS cloud security, now functions as a unified control plane for both cloud and AI security. The new release bundles four main capabilities: Azure resource monitoring, GuardDuty AI Protection for AI workloads, GuardDuty AI-powered investigations, and Security Hub AI inventory. For Azure, Security Hub can now discover and monitor virtual machines, container images, Function Apps, and identities. It evaluates these for misconfigurations and vulnerabilities, showing findings alongside AWS data in a single view. This matters because it offers a unified approach to securing enterprise AI across different cloud environments.
