Bolt & ChatGPT: Ride-hailing for 900M AI users

Ride-hailing platform Bolt has integrated its services with ChatGPT. This allows users to plan journeys, view fare estimates, and transfer ride details directly to the Bolt app through conversations with the AI platform. This global integration gives ChatGPT's estimated 900 million weekly users access to Bolt's services. Users can now get upfront price estimates, compare route options, check driver arrival times, and find convenient pickup locations before booking in the Bolt app. Bolt plans to introduce in-app payments within ChatGPT in the future. The company says this integration reflects the growing role of artificial intelligence in travel planning. According to Bolt, 80 percent of travelers globally now use AI tools for travel, and over half are willing to let AI manage their travel arrangements entirely. The Senior General Manager of Bolt Ghana, Teddy Appah-Dankyi, noted that changing consumer behavior is driving this decision. He stated that much planning now happens in one AI conversation, and requesting a ride should be just as straightforward. This development shows how AI is making everyday services more accessible.
