South African users can now request a Bolt ride through ChatGPT. This is possible by installing the Bolt ChatGPT plugin, which is available wherever Bolt operates. To access this, users install the Bolt plugin from the ChatGPT plugin store. Once installed, customers can interact directly within ChatGPT. They can get an upfront fare estimate, compare route options, and check their driver’s estimated arrival time. This helps reduce waiting times. When ready to travel, trip details transfer to the Bolt app to complete the booking. For now, payment still happens in the Bolt app, but in-chat payments are planned for a future update. This integration offers a new way to plan and request rides using natural language.
