BRICS NSAs: AI Threats, Cybersecurity & Terrorism in Focus

National Security Advisers from 11 BRICS nations are meeting in New Delhi to discuss security threats. India's National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval, will chair the two-day gathering. The talks will cover terrorism, cybersecurity risks, and the security implications of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies. What's interesting is the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This marks his first trip to India in nearly a year, following efforts to stabilize relations between the two countries. Diplomatic sources suggest Wang Yi might hold separate meetings with Doval and India's External Affairs Minister. While BRICS security cooperation is the official agenda, bilateral issues between India and China are also likely to be discussed. The meeting's central theme is non-traditional security challenges, such as cyber intrusions, digital espionage, and misinformation campaigns. Delegates will also discuss improving coordination among member states and balancing innovation with safeguards to prevent misuse. The outcomes of this meeting are expected to help shape priorities for the BRICS Summit in September.
