ChatGPT's Chrome extension and desktop app now have new features, making the AI more aware of your online activity. The Chrome extension can now read your open tabs, react to highlighted text, and answer questions about YouTube videos. This means ChatGPT already has context from your open tabs and can directly read YouTube videos without manual summaries. You can also right-click on a page to ask ChatGPT a question. The desktop app now suggests URLs as you type and allows you to search your browsing history. Other updates include an Activity view for recent chats and an expanded viewer for generated images where you can leave comments. These changes aim to make online research workflows faster for users.
