ChatGPT Free: Unlimited Chats & GPT-5.6 Luna Upgrade

ChatGPT now offers unlimited text chats for free users. This major update from OpenAI comes after the AI chatbot reached over one billion weekly active users. Free and Go tier users will now get unlimited text-based chats, powered by the new GPT-5.6 Luna model. This model replaces the current GPT-5.5 as the default. What's interesting is a new "Think" button for Free and Go users. This allows them to choose higher reasoning power for complex questions. However, there are still separate limits on files, images, voice, and image generation. Plus and Pro users also see upgrades, gaining access to the GPT-5.6 Sol model. This version is designed for quick tasks like web research and writing, promising more compact and robust answers. An internal evaluation found the new models significantly more accurate, with factual errors reduced by 62% for Luna and 68% for Sol. This means more reliable responses for everyone using ChatGPT.
