ChatGPT Health: AI Diagnoses at 'Clinician Level'

ChatGPT Health has launched in the United States, offering "clinician level" diagnoses. This new hub allows users to import medical records and health tracking data directly to the chatbot. OpenAI, the parent company, says this lets ChatGPT analyze a user's entire medical history. The company created this feature because 300 million users already ask the AI about health issues every week. You can now pull in data from services like Apple Health and MyFitnessPal, as well as medical records from hospital systems. OpenAI's vice president of health product states their models can reason at a "better than clinician level," though others temper this claim. Studies suggest AI can diagnose real-life medical cases as well as, or better than, doctors. However, AI is not a replacement for a qualified healthcare professional, as it may provide confident but incomplete or incorrect answers. This matters because while AI can offer useful information, it doesn't understand your health like a doctor does.
