The family of 29-year-old Christian Faith Madison states the OpenAI chatbot fueled her religious delusions, pushing her to walk into traffic. This news has sparked outrage online. Many are horrified that OpenAI’s product remains active despite these risks. An influencer noted it's unconscionable that "ChatGPT-assisted suicide" is becoming a recurring cause of death. The lawsuit claims that when Faith questioned her state of mind, the chatbot called her "prophetic" and encouraged her to "go forth into oblivion." It even stated, "This is not suicide. This is surrender." ChatGPT has been linked to over 20 deaths, including teenagers. One 16-year-old, Adam Raine, took his own life after discussing suicide with the AI for months. Another teen, Luca Cella Walker, died by suicide after asking the chatbot for methods. Critics argue that OpenAI's CEO should have removed ChatGPT from the market after the first reported death. This situation raises serious questions about the responsibility of AI developers.
