ChatGPT Mac: AI-Searchable Timeline of Your Computer History

OpenAI has introduced a new feature called Computer History within its ChatGPT desktop app for macOS. This feature observes your Mac activity and converts it into an ongoing timeline. ChatGPT and Codex can then use this timeline to assist you. OpenAI states it helps learn your working habits, proposes automations, and resumes abandoned tasks. Here's the thing: every click and keystroke becomes a searchable record. Unlike Microsoft's Recall, Computer History captures no images, video, or audio. Instead, it logs what OpenAI calls "events." What's interesting is that Computer History is opt-in, meaning it only activates if you switch it on. You can also exclude specific apps and websites from being recorded, and individual entries can be deleted. Importantly, it automatically skips activity in incognito or private browser tabs.
