ChatGPT: New AI Money Manager for Personal Finance

OpenAI has released a new set of personal finance tools within ChatGPT. This feature is currently in preview for Pro subscribers in the United States. Users can now link their financial accounts directly to ChatGPT. This creates a dashboard showing portfolio performance, monthly spending, active subscriptions, and upcoming payments. You can then ask questions about your spending habits. OpenAI partnered with Plaid for account linking, which connects to over 12,000 financial institutions, including major banks and investment platforms. They also plan to add Intuit support soon. To get started, look for "Finances" in your ChatGPT sidebar or type "@Finances, connect my accounts" into a conversation. The tool is available on the web and iOS. OpenAI acquired the team behind Hiro, an AI personal finance startup, to help launch this product. This new feature leverages the recently introduced GPT-5.5 model, which is designed for better contextual reasoning and has been specifically trained on personal finance questions. This development could change how people manage their personal finances using AI.
