ChatGPT on Mac: AI Reads, Drafts, Sends iMessages

OpenAI is integrating its ChatGPT for Mac with Apple Messages. This means the AI chatbot can now read, search, prepare, and send messages through Apple's Messages app. This feature supports iMessage, SMS, and RCS chats and is available across all plans on the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS. Users can ask ChatGPT to find information in conversations and draft replies. It can also send messages on a user’s behalf, but this requires user approval for both the message and recipients by default. This new integration is currently limited to Apple silicon Macs. It's part of a larger ChatGPT update that also includes improved syncing of pinned chats and new collaboration features.
