ChatGPT on Mac: Apple Messages Integration & New Features

OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT can now integrate with Apple Messages on Mac. This allows ChatGPT to search, summarize, and respond to conversations within the Messages app. Here's the thing: this new feature is available through the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS, specifically the Apple Silicon version. It lets users ask ChatGPT to find a conversation, summarize messages, draft a response, or even send a message. What's interesting is that OpenAI has included controls for sending messages. By default, ChatGPT requires user approval for both the message and its recipients before sending. However, users can grant permission for specific conversations, allowing ChatGPT to send future messages without repeated approval. This feature is available across all ChatGPT plans. OpenAI is also expanding its Computer History feature on macOS. This allows ChatGPT to use past computer activity to help users. It's now available to ChatGPT Pro users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK. For Codex, a new sharing feature lets users create read-only snapshots of conversations to share via a link. Pinned Codex chats will also now sync between the desktop app and iOS for users signed into the same account. Finally, ChatGPT Sites owners on Plus and Pro plans can now change their site's URL without redeploying, with the old URL automatically redirecting visitors. This means users have more control and flexibility over their messaging and site management.
