ChatGPT Organizes Google Drive: Finds Forgotten Files & Duplicates

ChatGPT can now search an entire Google Drive folder for files, ideas, and unfinished projects. This new feature allows users to connect a whole Drive folder and ask ChatGPT to find information across all contained files. This saves time compared to uploading individual files, especially for images. One user tested this by having ChatGPT connect to their Google Drive, which contained 10 years of unorganized files. The user asked ChatGPT to identify forgotten items, unfinished tasks, contradictions, deadlines, duplicate work, and suggest organization. After about 30 seconds, ChatGPT provided results. It found many files named "Untitled document" and identified their content. It also located material from books, old invoices, and forgotten idea fragments. ChatGPT even found duplicate files and multiple versions of a "household_budget_tracker." The process helped the user discover things from the past decade and led to a suggested folder structure. This means ChatGPT can help users organize digital clutter and rediscover old projects.
