ChatGPT Pro: New Personal Finance Tools for US Users

OpenAI has launched new personal finance tools for ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the United States. Users can now connect their financial accounts to analyze spending and plan for the future. This new service partners with Plaid, allowing connections to over 12,000 financial institutions like Schwab and Chase. Once linked, users see a dashboard summarizing portfolio performance, spending, and upcoming payments. The launch follows OpenAI's acquisition of the personal finance startup Hiro team. Users access the tool via the "Finances" option or by typing "@Finances, connect my accounts" in a chat. OpenAI plans to add Intuit support soon. More than 200 million users already ask financial questions to ChatGPT monthly. The company says its new GPT-5.5 model is better at reasoning with context for financial queries. Users can ask questions like, "Help me build a plan to buy a house in 5 years." For privacy, users can manage connected accounts and remove synced data within 30 days of disconnection. These tools are currently available for ChatGPT web and iOS Pro users, with plans to extend to Plus users. This shows AI companies are building specialized products for sensitive areas like personal finance.
