ChatGPT is back online after a major outage on Saturday. Users worldwide were unable to log in or load conversations. The disruption began around 5 AM ET. OpenAI's status page confirmed the AI tool was "experiencing issues" with "elevated error rates." The company worked to resolve the problem and monitor the situation. Thousands of users reported difficulties. The outage also affected OpenAI’s APIs and its coding platform, Codex. "Is ChatGPT down?" became a trending search on Google. DownDetector showed 79 percent of reports were for ChatGPT itself. Nine percent were for the mobile app, and 8 percent for Codex. OpenAI announced services were "fully operational" again just after midday on Saturday. The company stated it was not aware of any ongoing issues. This means a widely used AI tool is now fully accessible again for everyone.
