OpenAI has rolled out a new native Scheduled Tasks feature for ChatGPT, allowing users to automate daily routines. This new tool aims to move AI beyond transactional use, enabling it to work in the background. Setting up these tasks is straightforward, done directly within the chat interface. Users can simply type a command, like asking to check a stock price daily at a specific time. The AI instantly confirms the schedule with a visual tile. This tile shows the routine name, frequency, and includes a toggle to pause the task. Adjustments are easy; users can tap the tile to change the repeat frequency, time, or set an end date. Tweaking instructions is also simple, just by chatting with the AI. For example, asking the model to change a check time will automatically update the visual tile. All active routines can be managed from a new Scheduled page in the sidebar. This feature makes automation more accessible for non-technical users by eliminating the need for custom code or complex configurations. This means you can now set up ChatGPT to handle repetitive tasks for you automatically, saving time and effort.
