OpenAI has announced a major upgrade for ChatGPT, enhancing its ability to remember past conversations. This update aims to improve how the chatbot uses information from previous interactions, remembering user interests and preferences more effectively. What's interesting is this new system, based on a refined architecture called 'Dreaming', helps ChatGPT avoid forgetting old and important details. It organizes and refreshes information collected from past dialogues. This feature is currently rolling out for ChatGPT 'Plus' and 'Pro' subscribers in the United States. Support will expand to 'Free' and 'Go' users, and other regions, in the coming weeks. The company's internal benchmarks show significant improvements. The score for remembering details increased from 67.9 percent to 82.8 percent. User preference adherence rose from 55.3 percent to 71.3 percent. Users will also get a new 'Memory Summary Page' to review, correct, or remove stored information. This matters because it means more personalized and efficient interactions with ChatGPT.
