ChatGPT Voice Update: More Natural AI Conversations

ChatGPT Voice is getting a major update that makes conversations with AI much more natural. The upgrade uses new GPT-Live-1 and GPT-Live-1-mini models. What's interesting is you can now talk over the AI. It's designed to know when to respond quickly, acknowledge you, or give you a moment to think. Previous versions required users and the AI to take turns, leading to stiff chats and potential interruptions. GPT-Live can also delegate intensive tasks to other models, like GPT-5.6, while keeping the conversation going. This means faster and more accurate responses. Like other AI systems, you'll also get visual information cards for things like maps or weather. OpenAI is updating its safety guardrails too. GPT-Live can steer models toward "safer" responses and will not be allowed to imitate real people. The new feature is deploying now for ChatGPT Voice users on Android, iOS, and the web. Free users get the GPT-Live-1-mini model, while paid users get the full GPT-Live 1 experience. This update aims to make AI conversations feel much more like talking to another person.
