ChatGPT Work: AI Logs In & Automates Web Tasks

OpenAI has introduced a new feature in ChatGPT Work allowing AI agents to log in to websites and complete tasks. This means ChatGPT can now handle tasks that previously required manual user intervention for authentication. Users will enter their own login details, like usernames and passwords, directly into the system. OpenAI states that ChatGPT never sees or stores these credentials, ensuring user privacy and security. After successful authentication, ChatGPT Work can browse the website and complete the desired task. The authenticated session remains active for future tasks, but users can delete browser data if needed. This update enables ChatGPT Work to handle various scenarios, from setting up utilities for a new apartment to booking appointments or checking medical costs. Even after authentication, ChatGPT will ask for confirmation before important actions like making payments. This new login support is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Business users on web and mobile. Additionally, OpenAI has improved its Scheduled Tasks feature, which can now respond to events like new Gmail messages.
