OpenAI has launched a new "Computer History" feature for the ChatGPT desktop app on Mac. This allows the AI to access user activity across apps and websites. What's interesting is this feature provides more personalized responses. It's currently available globally for Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers. Computer History runs in the background and records visited apps and websites, creating a timeline. This means users won't need to repeatedly provide context in future sessions. OpenAI says this new version uses fewer tokens and offers more privacy control than its predecessor. Users must explicitly opt in through Settings and Integrations. They can also delete their entire history or specific periods. The company describes Computer History as a tool for skill-building, not just recalling past conversations. OpenAI has delayed its rollout in the EU, UK, and Switzerland, likely due to privacy concerns in those markets. If you don't want to use it, you simply don't opt in. This feature could change how users interact with AI by remembering their digital actions.
