Check Point AI Firewall: Securing GenAI & Network Traffic

Check Point Software Technologies has developed a new AI network firewall capability. This tool helps security teams monitor employee AI use and secure new types of network traffic. The solution is built into Check Point's latest firewall software. It analyzes and secures activity like AI prompts and autonomous agent actions, which traditional firewalls were not designed to detect. Teams can use it to find both approved and unapproved AI apps and enforce access policies. What's interesting is the AI firewall also prevents common AI-related attacks, such as prompt injection. Check Point's research shows that 87–93% of organizations experience at least one high-risk generative AI interaction monthly. The share of prompts with sensitive data has doubled in a year. The company also found security weaknesses in 40% of model context protocol servers and 15,300 hidden indirect injection payloads. The bottom line is this new tool aims to give organizations the visibility and control needed to safely adopt AI.
