Claude Cowork Expands to Mobile & Web: AI Productivity On-the-Go

Claude Cowork is expanding to mobile and web platforms, moving beyond its original desktop-only format. This means users can now manage tasks seamlessly across different devices. The tool, designed for general knowledge work, is rolling out for subscribers on Anthropic's Max plan. Beta access will expand to other plans soon. Sessions and files will follow users across devices, allowing tasks to continue running even when a laptop is closed. Status updates and decisions can appear on a user's phone. Anthropic says this changes how people interact with AI tools, allowing work to accumulate over time and across locations. Tasks can run in the background even if a device goes offline. Users can also schedule tasks to run entirely without a connected device. However, significant decisions will still require human input, with Claude sending questions directly to a user's phone. The desktop version remains key for deep work, but web and mobile access means more people can now use Cowork. This expansion aims to make AI-powered productivity more flexible and accessible for everyone.
