Claude Design Overhaul: Code Integration & Token Fixes

Anthropic's Claude Design tool just received a major overhaul. This update allows the AI design tool to import design systems directly from codebases. It also doubles the weekly token limits for all subscription tiers. The Claude Design tool, which launched in April, now offers round-trip code handoffs and a new token consumption model. This means the tool can automatically extract elements like colors and typography from existing code. Claude Design runs on the Claude Opus 4.7 vision model, letting users create designs and prototypes using natural language commands. Designs can be exported to various formats, including a special handoff bundle for Claude Code. Users previously reported that the AI-powered design tool consumed tokens too quickly. Anthropic addressed this by restructuring the workflow to front-load heavy generation, followed by lighter conversational refinements. The doubled token limits aim to make the tool more practical for real design work. This update positions Claude Design for a broader audience, including product managers, entrepreneurs, and developers who need to prototype quickly without design expertise.
