Developer surveys indicate roughly 70% of respondents prefer Claude for software development. Cursor, a popular AI-native code editor, now uses Claude as its default model. Despite Claude's coding lead, OpenAI maintains advantages in the broader enterprise market. OpenAI's models offer stronger multimodal capabilities, broader tool integration, and better token efficiency. Many organizations are also already invested in OpenAI-powered workflows through platforms like Microsoft 365 and GitHub Copilot. This means practical, real-world integration often outweighs benchmark scores for enterprise use.
