Cloudflare AI Gateway: New Identity Controls & AI Workspace

Cloudflare has expanded its AI Gateway with new identity controls and an AI workspace. This allows enterprises to track requests and manage spending and security for AI activity. Cloudflare introduced Cloudflare OS, an open-source, browser-based workspace. This platform connects AI tools with internal company systems. It was developed from an internal tool used by Cloudflare employees for tasks like research and document creation. The company also launched Identity-Aware AI Gateway and User Insights. These additions bring identity, spending, and security controls to AI requests moving through Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare OS works with various AI model providers, meaning organizations don't have to stick to just one. Administrators can apply budgets and rate limits, or direct specific workloads to different models. The new Identity-Aware AI Gateway links individual AI requests to authenticated identities, helping identify whether an employee or automated system initiated a request. This matters because it gives companies more visibility and control over how AI is used within their operations.
